  • • Meet at private residences
  • • Meet in isolated areas
  • • Meet late at night in quiet places
  • ▸Consider bringing a friend for expensive trades
  • ▸Meet during daylight hours when possible
  • ▸Tell someone where you're going and when to expect you back

VERIFYING CARDS

  • ▸Inspect cards carefully before completing the trade
  • ▸Bring a loupe or magnifying glass for expensive cards

Check for counterfeit signs:

  • • Light test: Shine phone light through card - should have blue core layer
  • • Rosette pattern: Under magnification, look for printing dots pattern
  • • Card thickness: Fakes often feel different thickness
  • • Font quality: Check text sharpness and alignment

For high-value cards (>$500 HKD), consider meeting at a reputable card shop where staff can help verify authenticity.

PAYMENT SAFETY

  • ▸Cash is safest for in-person trades
  • ▸Count money carefully before handing over cards
  • ▸For digital payment (PayMe, FPS), verify receipt before leaving
  • ▸Be cautious of overpayment scams ("I'll pay extra if you...")
  • ▸Never share bank account passwords or PINs

Watch out for these warning signs:

  • • Prices significantly below market value
  • • New account with no feedback, selling high-value cards
  • • Asking for payment before meeting

  • • Asking to move communication off-platform
